Church Themes :: Bridge Takes Top Theme of 2014

Envato and the people at Themeforest just put out their Top 50 Themes for 2014 based on overall sales and one of our most recommended themes happens to be THE top theme for the year.

Personally, I LOVE Bridge and it is no wonder it took the top theme spot! I’ve used it for a few clients as well as our own church site. I don’t want to take time to review it as I’ve already done that here. If you read the whole article and pay attention to the sales you’ll see that they DOUBLED their nearest competitor. After using them I can see why. One thing I would really like to see in this theme still is the ability to update using an API function without having to have the Envato WordPress Toolkit. That’s one reason I’m still using X Theme for a lot of my clients! Church, pray with me that Bridge adds that this year!!

If you’ve read a few of our blogs you know that we don’t usually recommend any themes that are directly geared towards churches because they tend to be cheesy and limited, but it is worth noting that some of the top 50 themes of the year are in that niche. Some of my favorites just from this category are the NativeChurch theme and the Church & Events theme. One thing that tells me is that churches and the nonprofit sector in general are making a stand online! You can check out the ‘top theme’ list for yourself by clicking here. If I were you, you being a church website maintenance and updater guy, I would subscribe to Envato’s blog to stay on top of 1) What is happing in the WordPress world and 2) the awesome deals that Envato puts on weekly.

I’m excited to see how the church impacts media and how things are done online this next year. Is your church’s theme on this top theme list?
